Michael Curry joined the Donald Maass Literary Agency in 2012, where he started as the assistant to Jennifer Jackson, and is now developing his own list of clients, which currently includes Nebula and Hugo finalist Brooke Bolander, Cassandra Khaw, Premee Mohamad, Darcie Little Badger, and Hugo and World Fantasy Award finalist Nick Mamatas. He is also a slush reader for the award-winning Lightspeed Magazine (and has been since 2009, when it was still Fantasy Magazine).
Michael is interested in novels with a compelling concept and a distinct voice. He encourages submissions by writers from underrepresented groups.
– Science fiction and fantasy with superbly crafted prose, especially leaning toward the literary and the Weird.
– Near-future thrillers with speculative elements (think William Gibson or Paolo Bacigalupi, rather than Dale Brown).
